Nedra Denison is
available to teach pyrography classes to groups or private classes in her
studio. We do travel and if your club is interested in
sponsoring a class Nedra would be happy to work with you to coordinate
available dates. Please keep in mind that we do schedule classes 6
-12 months out so we can coordinate our travel to other shows and classes.
Below is general information
on the classes, fees, etc. If you or your club are interested in

THE
TYPES OF PYROGRAPHY CLASSES I TEACH:
1.
Pyrography 101
which
is all the basics, shading, etc. For students of all skill levels. I work with each person at their own level. It is
normally a 1, 2 or 3 day class and the projects can be 2-3 depending on the
complexity of the patterns chosen. I have a variety of patterns to choose
from unless someone has a pattern of their own they want to work on.
2.
Lifelike Pyrography from Photographs
is for advanced burners who have experience with shading. We do portraits
and work from photographs. I have a variety of celebrity photos to work
from or students can bring their own. This is a 2-day class and no basic
skills or techniques are taught.
General Class information
Unfortunately with fuel charges at an all time high we have had to modify
my class fee schedule. Effective 4/10/08 our fees have changed as
indicated below.
A
maximum of 12 students per class so that I can have enough time to work
one-on-one with each person as needed.
One person would act as coordinator in your club or organization to
collect deposits, etc.
Class fee includes basic supplies (sand paper, transfer paper, practice
board and pattern). Project wood is extra in most cases. All students
would need to bring is a woodburner with temperature control and a variety
of pens/tips (if they have one) and a portable light if they have one.
Burners are available for loan if students do not have them but I need to
know 30 days ahead of time so I can order extra’s.
I
bring all materials needed for use in class (scissors, tape, pencils, red
pens, etc).
Other wood and supplies will be available in class for purchase for class
project or for future use.
Out of town classes: If available, we also ask for a place to park our
motor home (with electricity and water if possible). If the class is
sponsored or held at an RV park we do ask that they provide RV parking
with full hookups.
Refunds of deposit:
Deposits are non-refundable unless someone takes a student's place or I
cancel the class. Class will only be cancelled if you have not gotten the
minimum number of students to hold a class, I get deathly ill or we hit a
blizzard along the way. If I cancel the class for any of these reasons all
deposits will be refunded.
class fees - outside new
mexico
I
ask that we have 12 people for a class (for out of town classes)
and enough lead time for it to appear in Chip Chats and for us to try to
schedule other classes while in route. If the class is already full we
will not put it in Chip Chats.
Two-day Class in conjunction with a show we are
attending.
Class fee $135 per student which includes supplies (2 practice
boards, sanding pad, graphite paper, and 2 patterns. Project wood is
extra and will be available for purchase in class. The person who
coordinates the class will take and forward a non-refundable (unless
someone takes their place) deposit of half the class fee for each
person within 60 days of booking the class but no later than 60
days prior to the class date. Balance of class fee will be due in class.
If there are not enough people to hold the class it will be cancelled.
Three-day Classes:
Class fee
$190 per student which includes supplies (3 practice boards,
sanding pad, graphite paper, and 3 patterns). Project wood is extra and
will be available for purchase in class. The person who coordinates the
class will take and forward a non-refundable (unless someone takes their
place) deposit of half the class fee for each person within 60 days of
booking the class. Balance of class fees must be received no later
than 30 days before class date. If there are not enough people to hold
the class it will be cancelled.
Extra day:
If you have people interested in an extra day or some who want a class but
do not want to take a longer class they may opt to take an add on one-day
class. The fee to add an extra day is $55.00 (this is for the class only,
any additional supplies needed are extra) and will be due in class. For
someone just taking the one day of class, there is a $5.00 supply fee and
a $25.00 deposit is required for this option and balance due in class. A
minimum of 6 students is required to add an extra day. Arrangements for
the extra day must be made at least 60 days prior to the class date.

CLASSES - IN NEW MEXICO & LOCAL COMMUTING AREA OF BELEN/LOS
LUNAS & SURROUNDING AREAS

New Mexico:
2-day class
- $100.00 per student. Includes supplies (2 practice boards,
sanding pad, graphite paper, and 2 patterns). Project wood is extra and
will be available for purchase in class. The person who coordinates the
class will take and forward a non-refundable (unless someone takes their
place) deposit of half the class fee for each person within 60 days of
booking the class. Balance of class fees must be received no later
than 30 days before class date. If there are not enough people to hold
the class it will be cancelled.
Local area (Belen, Los Lunas and surrounding areas):
2-day class
- $80.00 per student. Includes supplies (2 practice boards
and patterns,
sanding pad, and graphite paper. Project wood is extra and
will be available for purchase in class. The person who coordinates the
class will take and forward a non-refundable (unless someone takes their
place) deposit of half the class fee for each person within 60 days of
booking the class. Balance of class fees are due in class. If there
are not enough people to hold the class it will be cancelled. (minimum 6
students)
1-day class
- $55.00 per student. Includes supplies (practice board, sanding pad,
graphite paper, and pattern). Project wood is extra and will be available
for purchase in class. (minimum 6 students)
FEES FOR week-long CARVING rallies
1
day classes of Pyrography 101…fees will be approx $40 which includes 1
each: practice board, sanding pad, graphite paper and pattern. Wood for
project is extra and will be available for purchase in class.
Advanced portrait class (two-day class) with an approximate fee of $75
including supplies listed above. Wood for project is extra.
Minimum of 10 people with ˝ of the class fee as deposit with balance due
in class.
PRIVATE CLASSES
Private classes are available in my studio. Fees are $25.00/hr and include
all supplies.
PRESENTATIONS/DEMO’S
I
am available to do brief seminar's and presentations to groups. Fees are
$25.00/hr plus mileage if out of the Albuquerque/Belen/Los Lunas commuting
area.
