Here is a sampling of some of the carvings done by Alan.  He sure is having a good time whittling away the time! 

Every one of Alan's carving is done by hand and there are no two carvings alike. 

Alan enjoys caricature carving as well as realistic carving.  Since he retired from the VA several years ago, his stress levels have come down and he has been able to spend a lot of time doing something he loves - carve!

Alan and Nedra are members of several woodcarving clubs including lifetime members of the Texas Woodcarvers Guild. Alan was President of the Capitol Woodcarvers Association in Olympia, WA before moving to New Mexico.  They are now members of the Rio Grande Woodcarvers in Albuquerque, NM.
