Colwood Burning Pens
Colwood handpieces are
manufactured from a molded plastic/phenolic material resulting in superior
insulating properties. Each piece is supplied with its own custom
cork (or foam) grip.
The Colwood pens and
replaceable tips we carry
come with highly polished tips ("P" after the tip style letter/number) made to my specifications and a foam grip for optimum comfort and superior
performance. We will be carrying fixed tip pens in the styles most
commonly used by flat burners and interchangeable tip styles most commonly
used by carvers.
Polished tips burn smoother
with no drag, burn cleaner with less carbon build up and they are easier
to clean.
Colwood recognizes that they
are no longer catering to duck and bird carvers and have been made some
wonderful changes that flat burners and gourd burners will really love.
We are so excited that
Colwood has worked with me to make the polished tips just the way I like

orders out within 24 - 48 hours. If we are at a show, we can usually ship most
orders within a few days. If there will be a delay in shipping we will let
you know. Shipping charges are calculated upon checkout. Woodburners
and most orders are
shipped FedEx Ground, please ensure you provide a physical address.
Smaller orders (such as pens and books) are shipped via USPS.

Regular cleaning of your pens is
essential to your burning and ensuring the life of your pens.
I have been working with
Colwood to develop my favorite pens since I started selling their products.
It was my goal to have them make all the same style pens that Razertip
made for me and that I use on
a regular basis, both personally and in my classes.
They have been great to work
with and I was thrilled to be able to offer people my favorite woodburning
pens at very reasonable prices. Just before my vacation I mailed
them samples of my favorite ball tips and I was thrilled to get an email
from them that they were going to make them. They sent me samples to

pen but even better. Each tip is individually ground and polished. This micro writing tip is
used for extremely fine writing, raising a duck bill's nostrils, indenting
around a duck bill nail, carving wrinkles, on birds and fish, modeling
around eyes, modeling bird feet, finishing the center shaft of feathers, and
signing.

Just as a word of caution
about the new ball tips. The ball is soldered to the end and is secure
but due to the nature of the design they are more fragile than regular pens.
Please use caution when using
them. You do not need to use pressure, let the pen do the work.

for cursive writing, lines, burning on tagua nuts and other miniatures and a multitude of other uses. It glides over the
wood to making writing with this tool a snap. Because of it's small size, it
is soldered to the tip rather than having a wire through it. Extra caution needs to
be taken when using these tips, they stay hotter longer after they are
unplugged. The larger sizes can stay hot for up to 5 minutes so please be
extra cautious when using them. All ball tips
require a longer warm-up time and cool-down time than our other tips.
Yes, the price is different than the other tips, it's not a mistake.
Because of the size and amount of work involved in making this tiny pen the
price is a bit higher.
